The Demise of the Last Free Comanches

In part one , following an attack on his camp by the U.S. army, Nukitsi journeys to find his father and his spirit power. He has many experiences and his vision is the visit of wolf who guides him on this quest. As Nukitsi learns to be a Comanche warrior he matures into a young man of skill and ingenuity who also finds a true love, Pale Feather.

As part one ends we see the last band of Comanche who have defied the U.S. government “run to ground” in a final attack in the deep canyon of Palo Duro that the Comanche had believed was their last safe haven. As the band scattered and fled up the canyon walls, their food, shelter, and tools were left behind, trampled and burned by the 4th U.S. Cavalry. Almost 2000 Comanche horses. their most prized possession, were slaughtered under the order of Col Ronald Mackenzie.

Unable to survive the winter without provisions or mounts, the band begins a winter march to surrender at Ft. Sill.
